Jon Garcia

Jon Garcia is the Head of the Alpha Creation Team at 26North and is responsible for optimizing the performance of 26North’s portfolio companies, helping them achieve their full potential for the benefit of all stakeholders. 

Before joining 26North, Jon had a distinguished career at McKinsey, where he was a Senior Partner, and founder and chair of McKinsey’s Reset – Transform – Sustain (“RTS”) practice. In that role, Jon pioneered the use of large-scale, underwritten fee arrangements, personally leading programs that achieved more than $10 billion in EBITDA benefits across dozens of clients. His experience spans work with clients facing a range of challenges, including failed integrations, poor cost positions, and new competitors. Recent examples include companies in aerospace, agriculture, business services, diversified industrials, and healthcare. 

While at McKinsey, Mr. Garcia served on its governing board and several of the firm’s other management committees. He also spent 11 years as a director of MIO Partners, a multi-billion-dollar investment platform that exclusively serves McKinsey partners and alumni. Jon was a member of the Audit and Investment Committees.

In 1997-98, Jon took leave from McKinsey to serve as a senior official in the Clinton Administration. He led the federal government's task force responsible for restructuring a $6 billion portfolio of subsidies provided to bidders on spectrum for mobile communications services (the "C Block").

Before founding RTS, Jon advised various alternative asset fund managers, including private equity, distressed investing, and hedge funds. He also worked as an attorney at Paul Weiss, where he handled a range of corporate and bankruptcy matters.

Jon and his wife Julie have two adult children. They support a range of philanthropic causes through the Garcia Family Spotlight Foundation, including creating educational opportunities for first-generation college students.
