Lance West

Lance is a Partner at 26North, focused on developing and implementing strategy across the platform.

Prior to joining 26North in 2022, Lance was a Partner and Senior Managing Director at Centerbridge Partners, which he joined at its inception in early 2006. While at Centerbridge, Lance was a member of the firm’s Management & Investment Committees and served as both CEO & Chairman of Centerbridge Partners Europe.

Prior to joining Centerbridge, Lance was a Partner and Managing Director at Goldman Sachs & Co. At Goldman, he was head of the firm’s Principal Finance Group and an original member of the senior leadership team that established Goldman’s Special Situations Group. He served on the Goldman Sachs Investment Committees for both the Special Situations and Specialty Lending Groups.

Before joining Goldman Sachs, Lance was the Founder and CEO of Greenthal Realty Partners LP and GRP Financial LLC. He began his career as a Member of the Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories.

Lance received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Lance is an Advisory Member of The California Institute of Technology’s Endowment Investment Committee and the European Board of the Environmental Defense Fund. Formerly a member of the Board of Overseers of Tufts University, the Chair’s Council for the HSS Division at Caltech, a member of the Economic Studies Council of The Brookings Institution, and the US Programme at Chatham House (UK).
